I’m an Italian – based in Tuscany – Photographer; I shot mainly wedding and portrait session, but I’m equipped to cover a lot of different conditions. Ok, I’ve some stuff. But I never bring with me all these gears when I leave to shoot Wedding or portrait session. Basing on wedding location, travelling distance, kind of required photo-service, lenght of the service (and of course inspiration!) I decide what I really need for, and the must-to-have pieces…
Here below you can find a grocery list of all my pieces. Remember to don’t forget that the most important of them when you start to take pictures must be placed (oh, not always, but it can helps) on the backside of your camera (roughly “twelve inches behind it”, thanks Ansel! 😉 ). The newest body can help you in being faster, the newest lens in shooting in the darkest light. But they cannot get an idea, develope and compone it in the best way to fix it in a frame in an unforgettable way! Keep in mind! 😉

Hi Francesco,
I have read your post about freelensing an ai 50 1.4 which I have but blades are covered with oil, I will modify it tomorrow, as I need to buy scewdrivers.
I use the sigma50ex and love it. I was wondering how do you find the 20mm1.8 on your D800. Is it sharp enough at 1.8 or F2, and how is the bokeh on it? I love the bokeh from the Sig 50. Your opinion would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Eric
Hi Eric, 20 f1,8 is a nice lens, quite sharp in the center, just enough (for me) on the corner. Be carefull to find the last version, with white writtings, because it’s better. Anyway I use it just for few shots, otherwise I switch to 28 f1,8 that is more compliant to my style. I love sig50, but I’m waiting for the new one…I’m sure it will be a great lens and I want it! I evaluated als8 58 f1,4 by nikon, but I prefer a shorter focal lenght. Cheers, Fra
